About our club

Service above self, right here at home

We are the Rotary Club of East Lake Sunrise, a group of neighbors in Oldsmar and the East Lake area who believe in showing up for our community and the wider world.

Who we are

A small club that punches above its weight

Rotary International is a global network of more than 1.4 million neighbors, friends, and problem solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change. Our club is the local chapter of that idea.

Every Thursday morning we get together over breakfast to plan projects, welcome speakers, and figure out how we can be useful. Some of our work stays close to home, like food drives and reading benches for schools. Some of it reaches around the world, like Rotary's fight to end polio.

You do not have to be a certain kind of person to belong here. If you want to do some good and enjoy the company of people who feel the same way, you will fit right in.

Our guiding principles

The Four-Way Test

Rotarians around the world live by a simple ethical guide for the things we think, say, and do. It is four questions.

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Adopted by Rotary in 1943 and still the standard we hold ourselves to.
